Structured Outpatient Addictions Program (SOAP)

Structured Outpatient Addictions Program (SOAP) is a clinically intensive, highly structured day program for individuals in their early stages of recovery. This program specializes in treating individuals who are dually diagnosed with addiction and mental health issues. Individuals attend the program daily for six to seven hours. They meet with counselors, case managers and therapists individually and in groups to address various aspects of their lives in order to achieve stable recovery. SOAP is 4-6 weeks long: a minimum of 3 days a week at 3.5 hours/day, maximum of 5 days a week at 7 hours/day. This is based on a clinical assessment and need of the person.

From the intake, there is a focus on after-care planning in the program so that success can be sustained after completion. The reputation of the LHATR SOAP has been outstanding due to the program’s success in helping individuals meet their sobriety, health, housing, career and educational goals while living in the community and gaining confidence in their ability to stay clean and sober one day at a time. We welcome self-referrals.

SOAP hours are typically 8:30AM to 3:30PM Monday through Friday.

*Most Mass Health plans are accepted, as well as private pay with a sliding fee scale, or in some cases service is paid for by the Bureau of Substance Abuse Services.
